Long, textured black hair, pulled back to save time. A sharp, stubbled face showing the first signs of wrinkles. Not very tall, but good posture trained into him during his early days in the Second. Hairy arms. He lets the uniform go a little bit around the chest -- more comfortable that way.

Junya's reiatsu is a heavy and deep blue, like the skyline right after sunset. It smells of thick cold and tastes lightly metallic.

A worker, first and foremost. Nowadays, his manner is relaxed and much more casually approachable, but the job, the work, is always on his mind. He's someone who uses the Gotei for real meaning; work orients him to reality. He's perceptive and focused because he needs to be as an intelligence officer. He's quietly resilient because he needs to be for his subordinates. He feels the pain of his work, but in the center of his being, everything eventually passes away, because it needs to. The rest of his life floods in to fill the cracks. A necessary penchant for tea, the absent-minded reading of stories if his eyes can handle it after hours of pouring over operational maps, short walks, drinks when he can. Every few years he absentmindedly resolves to do something more intentional with his time, to take up a real interest or hobby, before forgetting he had the thought entirely.

Junya died as a young peasant in England. He awoke somewhere in the inner circle of the Rukongai, and was adopted by a family running a bakery. He swept there for about thirty years, waking up from a long dream. Eventually, the Gotei began to appeal to his young heart. He felt called to a life of concrete action, pursuing clear goals in the service of society.
When he arrived at the Academy, he found himself filled with a quiet determination, and a strange sense of discipline. His dexterity and single-minded will attracted the attention of the Second Division. The words "special operations" appealed to Junya deeply. He wanted to be a tool for change, for noble work that could leave a mark on the world in some way. The directorate seemed to be the path to that indescribable sense of impact.
After one-hundred years of service, attaining the rank of Fifteenth Seat, he was transferred the Eighth Division. The official papers cited personnel shortages in the Eighth as a key factor influencing the decision agreed upon by Junya and his superiors, and mentioned his experience in field reconnaissance and potential aptitude as an analyst.
Since then, Junya has been a productive member of the Eighth. His early service was spent in the field, utilizing surveillance technologies to monitor soul populations in World of the Living during the beginning of the Black Death. As he's progressed to a more senior position, his official duties have shifted to focus on analysis.
To look at Junya on paper, one would see a capable officer of previous distinction. But the work has changed him. Since he's come to the Eighth, he's softened. His fellow soldiers know him as overworked and tired, but never harsh. He only speaks firmly in defense of his subordinates -- duty rosters rarely go uncontested. Junya doesn't begrudge anyone he works with the small power he has to at least let them rest. He sees the Gotei, the world, changing more quickly than he had ever thought possible.
