A veil of rain had fallen over the white city and now streams were running across the window glass like veins. Traces of thunder echoed through the captain’s office where the haori hung lonely over the chair’s back. In the end it had fit neither Nagisa nor her, and now that the former was gone, free to go elsewhere, Kasumi planned to take her leave as well.
Gently closing the shoji she stepped from beneath the wooden roof and into the pouring rain. The gentle licking of water against her skin felt better than she could remember. Such a burden had slid from her shoulders when she had placed down the white piece of fabric. Taking a step forward she realized that it was like getting out of a cage too small to walk in. She had tasted the life she had thought that she wanted, but it turned out to be lacking in flavor. And one could only live for others for so long.
With her hands in her pockets and Vör on her side she made her way towards the Commander’s office. The few people she passed still stopped to bow, she acknowledged them with a twist of her lips. Small smiles for them to remember and perhaps tell about sometime later on. Little gifts in forms of gestures which might help them in the future, in the hard times to come.
“Knock, knock.” Her knuckles never touched the wood. Leaning with her shoulder against the wall she looked inside the office. Small puddles of water formed themselves beneath her feet. A wide grin showed off her pretty teeth. Lazily pinpointing Shun she kept her gaze on him for a while. The thunder kept on rolling in the silence between them. She enjoyed that.
“I’ve been to Hueco Mundo last night. It’s pretty there, in a brutal way.” Pensively throwing a look out of the window she straightened up and entered the room. In the brief reflection she could see her hair being more of a mess than usual. The sight caused her hand to feel through some of the wet locks. After a second, however, she froze and let them be.
“Still, it’s not exactly that, you know.” she caught his gaze, holding it with her bright eyes. “And of all people you should know it best.”
Being pretty certain that he had no trouble understanding her, she let him soak in her words. There was an unnatural amount of patience coming from her. Unlike these past weeks she felt no urge to push the matter, to run through this moment like she had been dashing through everything on her way so far. Even the hunger she had felt growing into a slowly burning madness had settled.
“I’m bored, Shun. Somehow I’ve lost interest in this cause, in this place.. it’s been fun, but I want something new.”

*summarizes* I still don’t see the issue of a Mask being a Second Release (and you both seem to agree that this request is good enough for a Second Release). Mirabelle isn’t Prestige yet, this is just a step toward that process. There is still the usual path, should she want to, she can have the IH deceiving her (dat illusions power) and work together with her Spirit, get Bankai, beat the traitor IH, put her issues in an order and do what the others did, then live happily ever after. Orrrrrr, Mirabelle can be something else entirely, and end up being a full Hollow-breed. So many paths, so little time.
Sometimes I feel like we need to give people (especially those who are willing to learn and adjust things to get better) the chance to write their story the way they want to and just gently guide them should it really become necessary. Perhaps it’s just my inexperience with these sort of things speaking here, we’ll see how this turns out.
Mirabelle Bonnet , make me proud! (We don’t want for Dante’s ego to devour the galaxy, do we?)

I still don't think that mastering Hakuda or Weapon Proficiency should become a must, and while it could have made sense to have a Kidou school or some equivalent of it as a req. this too would depend on how the player decides to develop their path towardd Shunko.
I think that, in a way, the elements are a thing already. Kasumi's is different from Hi-to's, and his wasn't the same as Kiriko's.

This grading rubric operates on a scale of 1-10 where 1 would be the absolute bottom of the barrel of any work. 10 would be perfection beyond correction. In general, a rating of 6 represents "the standard" we would accept. Therefore, a 6 should be considered 'good enough' for an individual category. Look for a reason to adjust above or below this number.
Writing Ability Is this of the quality we expect from a Second Release player?
I find the posts neatly written and easy to read. There are typos and mistakes here and there, but none of them truly disrupt the reading process.
Release Specifics Is the release something we would expect? Do we see a theme here in keeping with the First power?
While the theme doesn’t entirely align with the Shikai’s power, it doesn’t have to here because the power is coming from the IH instead of the Spirit. The fact that those two are basically the opposite in attitude shows through the powers, which is interesting and for me completely acceptable. The Spirit is vindictive and uses poisonous fumes to destroy the enemy while the IH tries to teach Mirabelle to see things from another perspective with the help of illusions. On a certain level the theme is still there, illusions being poisonous for the mind.
Player Progression We expect the moment of achievement to be one of greatness with power and content to back it up.
The relation between Mirabelle and Beldame is clearly not working, it’s nice to see how you’ve subtly had Mirabelle become more and more lonely because of it. This fits well with the Inner Hollow being there for Mira, coming from the background to encourage and help her out. It’s as if the IH is slowly taking in the Spirit’s place, and it is! Then there is the need to no longer be alone, to be strong, and to use the power she possess even if it’s a dangerous thing to do. That shows resolve!
OVERALL 19/30 = 63% - Second release generally suggests 18 out of 30 (60%) or better, but this is merely a tool to evaluate, not the be-all
*Attention: you'll only be able to get a boost up to +40 even if you get a MA or GM in the skill, the other +10 or +20, depending on the masteries, will have to wait until you've hit Prestige.
Thoughts etc I’m curious to see how this dynamic between the Spirit and the IH will work out for prestige, what other issues Mirabelle will need to tackle now that she’s picked her IH’s side.
As advice for any next requests, like we’ve discussed, don’t just summarize topics, show why they’re relevant to the request, what the links are between them, and how your char/ the relationship/ the skill evolves. Another thing might be wanting to either draw a clear ‘line’ through the ‘subtle’ hints you drop to guide the story, so they don’t get too lost in the story, or make them a bit clearer (that way they’ll be easier to follow).
The Defense stat is completely useless to most races that don't have Hierro or Blut.
Regen shouldn't be tagged to Hierro, it makes the skill too useful.
Shunko shouldn't be able to be used as attack and defense.
There's quite a few powers that are way out of control, and a few that are ignored by players. Faction decisions and decision makers should be easier to get a hold of/see where they stand.
The 4 stat system has too many glaring issues when you're only using 2 no matter what, and there's no way to counter if someone has a better build focus than you.
I feel like you just need to re-read the rules regarding the workings of stats, skills & injuries xD
Def isn't useless, everyone uses it.
Regen and Hierro are two different skills and aren't linked in any way. You can't even master both on the same char as far as I'm aware.
Show me an 'out of control' power? And if players are actually ignoring powers, show that to me too?
You're not always using two, you could, though.
All I can say aside from that is > get a 'better build' then. However, even that isn't really true. You could be incredibly fast and it would work if you would get the right Masteries/ high enough stats/ complimenting powers. But that's, of course, up to the player to do.
Edit: shunko, like any kidou or power, can be used for attacking and countering/blocking, so I don't see the issue.

From what I see Quincy and 'Humans' are quite alike, especially with the whole 'humans can learn to be Quincy' thing. If every mortal can become a Quincy as long as they have powers, then it might be good just to split the world of the living groups into 'Quincy', 'uninitiated Quincy' (or some equivalent of that), and then the 'Variant' one for artificially created beings etc. This might also add to the history. Atm they appeared around 900AD, but where have they been before that? I would suggest them 'always having been around' but before that time they hadn't united/ passed down the knowledge/training, and so on.
The most present group is the Shinigami, even with Kas being the only active captain atm, most don't seem to have a problem finding something to do, so slowly things keep on turning. This is probably because the Shinigami have a clear structure to them/ a goal, so it's easier to start playing as one when you're new.
Our biggest 'problem' at the moment seems to be the Hollow. Mostly because we don't have enough of them/ they don't have a leader/ someone driven to gather/ motivate them. Unfortunately, they can't be put into motion through violence from the Shinigami's side because a real war would just kill the few Hollow we have.
The too strong chars might be fixed with something like Shun Minamoto vs Kas to get those two out of SS, or at least Kas if it works out (then she can go stimulate the Hollow or something).
As far as I've noticed the skills seem fine, the only exception being the 'humans' because of their 'race specifics' all being 'customs', and with custom skills being standardized I would say > let them pick from reflavored skills from other races and/or a couple of the Quincy, until they decide to be fully Quincy > the original power can be reishi manipulation [specific and unique/ won't need to change when the transformation to ful Quincy is made] > other skills can evolve into the Quincy ones/ be replaced by something more concrete).

It was oddly amusing to watch him be so cautious around the Jellyfish. Their translucent tentacles slithered across his arm causing his form to briefly shrink. There was no facial expression she could study, but the way he moved, so insecure, it told her enough. She didn’t blame him for feeling rather uncomfortable, certainly not, but the scene brought forth a chuckle from her side of the desert. So much for trust, the thought entered her mind uninvited and really unexpected. With it something else came. It was the realization that she was so used to those around her simply accepting her judgement that him acting as if they were potentially hostile while she had told him that they weren’t was.. almost unreal. Clearly the haori had smothered either the doubts of those around her or their courage to stand up to her. Perhaps both. Those lines had been blurred.
Unfortunately some couldn’t be.
If only he knew.
“I cannot be your friend,” she replied honestly. However, no threatening aura came from the young captain sitting in the sand. Watching him being on the edge of fear for a moment longer, she lured the Jellyfish back toward her frame with just a tiny amount of silvery energy. The web had them. They came floating to her like moths to a source of light. She was glad to have them settled, and basically surrounding her, in the sand. The one in her lap was happy to stay there, she let it be.
“No,” shaking her head Kas gently laughed, continuing. “we will not be friends.”
“Though, that doesn’t mean that I’m not intrigued by your.. choice of lifestyle.” The land here consisted out of simplicity and brutality. Death came swiftly here, but so did opportunities. Peacefulness, however, didn’t really match Hueco Mundo’s nature in Kasumi’s opinion.
Gesturing to the seemingly endless sands around them she kept her gaze on Knight when posing her own question. “Are you telling me that you’ll only kill your kind because you think that’s being peaceful? Or have you two simply decided that it’s the lesser evil?”
She found it quite interesting to see someone who preferred to kill their own race above any other. Most would not choose that option. It appeared unnatural, odd. It’s why she had to know why they had come to that conclusion.
Seireitei is crumbling and the Gotei is a shell of its former self. Ravaged by the plague, the surviving Shinigami struggle to maintain the balance, but with so few of them left, the work is taxing and their fortress-city has fallen to neglect. Spread thin across all fronts, their diminished presence has been noted by friend and foe alike.
The Arrancar have rebuilt Las Noches and are rallying. The throne remains empty, but self-styled Espada have risen up from among them and are vying for control, each one endlessly testing the others’ weaknesses. Too evenly matched for any one of them to claim the crown, they bide their time, waiting for the opportune moment.
On Earth, all seems well—but there is a war being fought in the shadows as the mortals find themselves lacking the protection they once had and so sorely need. The Quincy, having realized the oppressive specter of the Shinigami is no more, are flourishing, and are fighting the Hollow-breeds with renewed vigor.
