Samantha sighed as she looked over the sketch pad in her arms. She had not found anything that she wanted to draw for weeks. She had a few drawings of her hallow friend and a few of Kemotou and her mother. Samantha walked slowly along the sidewalk her mid shin baby blue skirt swaying with the motion of her hips. She was also wearing a black lace tank top with a dark purple silk bra underneath. Her skin and bra were slightly visible though the lace. Her golden hair was pulled back into a pony tail and two charcoal pencils were stuck though the base. She sighed and hugged the sketch pad before she stopped thinking about when she had first come here and the beautiful church and the graveyard. A bright smile caressed her lips as she took off running to the church her strides long. It took her a little over five minutes to reach the church and it was just an hour away from sundown. She giggled jumping up a little and then sitting down on one of the pillars of the short wall and pulling a pencil free of her hair and flipped to a clean page in her book starting to sketch out the framework of the beautiful church. She bit her lower lip as she drew her mood greatly lifted from a few hours ago.

Kokuou was dressed in his normal outfit: combat boots, black jeans and a t-shirt and a button shirt over top. This button shirt was a dark blue silk shirt with silver embroidered dragons across the back and sides. He was wearing his necklace, a blue cube with a screw cap that was bound in silver that was shaped in the form of a dragon breathing flames, around his arms he now had several silver looking chains that were wrapped around his arms, almost in the style of Sacred Sutra Beads. He was standing in front of a trio of graves, all bearing the same name. In his hand was a single fresh flower, a lily that he had bought not too far from church. Straining his senses he would focus his attention at the three graves and hear, see nothing, although several of the other graves within the cemetery had spirits floating around, and around the graves near him, he could hear whispers that were part of something he still did not fully understand. As if there should be a spirit or something present but he could not sense it still. No one else could sense or hear there …for lack of a better word spirits, although he was not sure if they were actually spirits, several spiritually aware entities could not detect anything when he had asked them, so either he was just imagining things, or his senses were evolving or something to pick up things other people could not.
He was at the cemetery this day because he wanted to test and find out if he was hearing things and just slowly going crazy or if he was hearing or sensing something that others found more difficult to locate. The silence he heard made him believe it was the latter. There would never be any voices or spirits connected to these three graves, for those had been destroyed forever. These graves only held the earthly remains of his parents and brother so there was not really a point in visiting. However he could not help but remember the words someone once told him, ‘That the graves are not meant to console the dead; instead they are meant to bring comfort to the living who are left behind’. This made a lot more sense to him now, but not much back then. Now he was the only actual family member who visited the grave. His grandfather knew that they were gone, and he would not even speak of them as family. The only other visitors were his brother’s friends, members of the local yakuza; although it appeared they had not been around recently. He was never really sure why they had wished to be buried in a Christian cemetery but they were.
With a sigh he would twirl the lily in his hands around and walk towards the church itself, noting that it was getting late, almost sundown. He planned on just making an offering and admiring the architecture of the building. While he was not Christian, he found the style rather interesting, although to some, it could look kind of gloomy. After lighting the incense that was provided he would look around, noticing that it was strangely quiet, with nobody inside except for a single young blond lady, spiritually powerful to his senses, who was busy drawing. With a smile he would walk towards her interested in finding out what she was drawing and to say hello to another spiritually empowered individual. Not trying to mask his footsteps as he walked down the aisle he would wait until he grew closer to say hello.

Samantha was getting frustrated now. She had been working on the doorway for forty five minutes now and for some reason it was not looking right. She had the basic outline of the church drawn out and a few lines to map out where the windows would go. She tapped the end of the pencil on her full lower lip the slight wind ruffled her hair agenst her back making her shiver and mess up a little on the line she was sketching out. She sighed softly and shifted from her position on the wall, it was now twilight and the soft lighting that lined the walkway of the church and that were scattered thought the graveyard started to come on and Samantha smiled hearing a few late night birds starting to awaken. She stood sitting her book down on the wall her skirt sliding back down over her leg. She arched her back her hands laced and over her head. She sighed pulling her hair free. "Come on... something is missing." She ran her small hand though her hair wincing a little as she hit a knot in her hair. She took a soft breath before sitting back on the wall and picking up her pencil again and going back to trying to draw the doorway.

As Kokuou approached her, he could tell that she was frustrated with her work and also totally focused on the drawing she was working on. She had not even noticed him walking towards her even though he had not put any effort in walking quietly or was trying to sneak up on her. He would however make an effort not to disturb her immediately, waiting for a break in her drawing before disturbing her. Finally when she let out a sigh and spoke to herself about how something was missing he decided that was the best time to say something.
With a light toss the lily that he had been carrying would be gently tossed into her lap and he would say “Hi, sorry for overhearing but maybe you are trying a little too hard? That is what usually happens to me when I am frustrated and can not get the feel for something. Take a moment to stop and enjoy the scenery and maybe it will fall into place.†He would say with a smile and slight bow as he sat down nearby facing her. “Oh allow me to introduce myself, my name is Kokuou Munashii. Nice to meet you.â€

Samantha jumped completely startled as the lily fell into her lap. She fall hard onto the grass on the other side of the wall her hair falling in front of her face. She groaned sitting up the lily in her hand and unharmed and she ran her right hand though her hair pushing it back. " Um, Hello. And yes your right I am quite frustrated with this drawing I cannot get the doors right..." She took a deep breath and winced tucking her knees under herself struggling to get up now the fall had hurt her hip and her left shoulder. She smiled warmly trying to mask the pain and she tucked her hair behind her right ear lifting the lily to her nose and smelling deeply. A smile crossed her lips as she inhaled the sweet light sent.
Her eyes went back up to the man and she tilted her head a little to the right. "My name is Samantha, Samantha Russel. But most people just call me Sammie...â€She looked down to her drawing that was now laying open on the floor and sighed still frustrated with it. It was close to a picture quality but she was still working on the door and the little angels along the back wall. She leaned over picking up her notebook and setting it in her lap. She looked back to Koku and smiled again. "So what brings you to the church? Sorry I got a little startled I was so wrapped up in my work...I did not hear you walk up behind me." She played with the lily brushing her fingertips over the soft petals.

“Whoa, are you alright?†Kokuou would immediately ask when he saw her fall over peeking over the wall that she had fallen off of, looking a bit concerned. He had not meant to startle her that badly. He would lean over the wall and offer her his hand to help her stand if she so chose saying “Sorry I did not mean to startle you like that, do you need a hand?†whether or not she would accept his hand up when she returned to her original sitting position he would not be offended if she did not take his offer for help, and once she was settled again he would listen and answer her.
“Well it is nice to meet you Samantha, or do you prefer to be called Sammie? And as for why I am here? I was visiting a few graves and checking up on new arrivals I guess you can say.†He would say with a laugh, seeing no point in trying to hide his spiritual awareness from someone else who was spiritually aware. “Then I saw you sitting over here drawing and I became a bit curious as to what you were drawing, and figured as two individuals with unique talents I might as well introduce myself.â€

Sam giggled as she took the hand that was offered to her and pulled herself back up to the wall. She handed him her book the drawing of the church open still. "I like the lines of the church.. and the graves..It’s a little calming. And I like being called Sammie or Sam better.. I only get Samantha when I am in trouble." She laughed lightly and ran her hand though her hair. "Ow." She rubbed her arm where she had scraped it on the wall. "Oh well.." She smiled softly. "It is really nice to meet you Koku. Sorry for freaking out on you like that I guess I was so focused that I did not hear you come up." She tilted her head a little to the right and started braiding her hair slowly. "You can see the shadows as well cant you...well spirits I guess. Some are very .. Active.. They fallow me around a lot."

“Alright, Sam it is then.†Kokuou would say as he looked at the drawing. “This is very good; you go to an art school or draw professionally? And no problem, I should have probably made a bit more noise so not to have startled you that badly.†He would say smiling in response to her smile. Then he would hear her ask if he could also see shadows, although the way she said it was more of a statement. “Shadows? I use to see them as just shadows, these days now; they are crystal clear to my eyes. The spirits are attracted to those that can see them, those with greater than normal spiritual presence. These simple ghosts are nothing to worry about, although they can be annoying, still they will go away and leave you unharmed. The more dangerous spirits, hollows, are the ones you really have to watch out for, some appear to be alright, but most are not. As your powers grow, so does your perception, at least usually so things will become more easy to see with time, the details will grow more visible and less like blurs or shadows.†Kokuou would say remembering how his powers awoke.

Samantha smiled warmly and took the drawing back and brushed her fingers over it. "No... I do not go to art school I just finished High school really." She smiled warmly and looked up to the night sky as the star started coming out. "I love the night.. and I know not all hallows are bad.. I have one as a friend of sorts.." She giggled and rocked back and forth a little as a cool breeze caressed her sin making her shiver a little. "Wow it is a little cold out today isn’t it." She smiled and closed the notebook after glancing over her work. "So you think I need to go to art school?" Samantha tossed her braid over her shoulder and winced as she realized she may have a bruised rib or two. “Wow.. That fall hurt worse then I thought.†She laughed holding her sides tightly as she sat her notebook down on the stone wall.

It was impressive how well Samantha drew considering that she did not go to an art school. Drawing was never something he was skilled at so his drawings were usually horrible if he tried. But he had enough other talents that he did not feel jealous over her talent. “impressive.†He will say before glancing up at the sky as night began to fall. “Yes, night time is also one of my favorite times. And I too know an arrancar that has appeared friendly, but I will not trust them all.†He would say as he felt the cool night breeze blow past them bringing a slight chill as the temperature dropped. “Yeah the temperature has dropped a good bit, I forgot to bring a coat or I would have offered one to you. And yes, if you are that good without any actual training, you will be extremely good if you took some classes.†He would answer her. When she started to wince and hold her sides tight he would ask. “Are you sure you are ok? I mean you took a pretty nasty fall.†He would ask sounding a bit concerned. It was not like he was worried that she would have to go to the hospital or something, because she would be in a lot more pain then she was showing, but he still felt kind of bad about startling her that badly.

Samantha shook his head a little. "My friend is not an arrancar... He is a hallow, and yes I am fine it’s just sore ill get over it soon enough." She picked up her things and then flipped to a new page before she looked back up to him. "Do you mind if I draw you... you are interesting in your facial features" She smiled warmly and tilted hr head to the side as she pulled a pencil sharpener from her pocket and fixed her pencils and then stuffed them back into her hair. She looked him over trying to figure out what angle and background would be best for him. She studied his features carefully. "So who's grave were you coming to see? If it is too personal I’m sorry I asked and you don’t have to answer." She ran her fingertips over the lily again slowly. "I love lily's ... they smell so sweet and they are my favorite." She looked up at him her grey-green eyes glittering with a hidden excitement. She pulled one of the pencils from her hair and placed the lily behind her ear and looked around the graveyard for a place to draw him and bring out his features.

“Ah, I see. I have not met many hollows that have stopped long enough to have a conversation†Kokuou would reply with a chuckle. “And of course, feel free. I do not mind at all if you want to use me as a model.†He would continue to say with a nod and wait for her to give him some sort of direction for how to stand or where to stand for the picture. When he was asked about the grave he was visiting, who it belonged to he would temporarily lose his smile. “No, it is ok, I do not really mind, it has been long enough that I have gotten used to it. I was visiting my family’s Graves. My Brother, my Mother and my Father. Let us see, that was about eleven years ago, well my parents at least, my brother died four years before that, so it has been a while. So I really do not mind answering.†He would finally answer with a shrug. “Anyway I am glad that you like the lily. It was an impulse buy since I was visiting and it seemed appropriate, but there is no one left to enjoy the flower. So I am glad that you enjoy it and that it will not go to waste.†Kokuou would say regaining his smile. There was a lot more he could have said about his parents and brother. But he felt that there would be no need to be quite so depressing talking about things that could not change.

Samantha smiled and shifted herself just so his frame was on the edge of the church and the graveyard so it looks like it was a perfect half split. She smiled and started to draw quickly doing rough outlines. She spoke softly as she drew her eyes switching between him and the paper before her. "I promise I am not going to ask you to strip down to nothing as a model." She giggled and shifted on the wall starting with the background now working in great detail. She was silent most of the time and after fifteen minutes she asked softly. "What do you do for fun? Sorry if it is a random question I am just trying to make some conversation to pass the time while I draw I know sitting there and waiting for someone to finish something can be really boring." Samantha looked up at him slowly but then went back to drawing. She had everything rough outlined and was now working on getting the detail drawn in using shading and shadows to make the drawing more dynamic.

Kokuou Munashii would break out laughing when Samantha promised him that he would not have to worry about being stripped down to nothing for the picture. “Oh, I think it would get a bit too cold outside here, with the wind chill and it becoming evening. Anyway even if the weather was warmer, or we were in a place that was private enough to do that kind of art..†At this point he would pause and raise his eyebrow still smiling slightly “Well, I would really hate to have the authorities to get the wrong impression about different styles of art when a beautiful young lady is involved.†He would say putting a little more emphasis on the word young, since she had said that she had just finished High school, before laughing. Now he could have been wrong and Sam could have started school a little latter and could actually be a bit older then she looked, but he felt his comment was safe to say.
“Now as for what I do for fun? Oh there are a few different things, but most of what I do on my free time is cook, both regular meals and make pastries and deserts. I also read a bit, on pretty much any subject. But cooking is something that I really enjoy. It was originally something I did to help pay bills, earn extra cash for stuff, but found out that I really enjoyed cooking.†Kokuou would reply making sure that he stayed still enough that he wouldn’t possibly ruin the picture that she was drawing of him. He did not find it too difficult to remain still, except when he was talking; he had to resist moving or gesturing when he spoke. “What about you? Other than drawing of course, what do you do for fun?â€
Post by Samantha Fuego on May 7, 2012 20:02:00 GMT -5
Samantha started laughing not missing what he was pointing out. "Yes I guess me just turning sixteen is a little young. Well anyways you don’t have to worry about not moving around a lot I can keep the image I want in my mind." She smiled softly at the image of him cooking that popped into her mind and it made another giggle escape her lips. She was a little taken aback by him asking what she did for fun. She placed her pencil down and thought a moment. "Well.... in all honesty... I have not really thought about it all I have thought about is what has happened. A few old friends of mine went back to the states and then I lost a few people close to me I guess I have not really been thinking much of fun. I like playing with my Kitten Bug." She giggled and leaned back into the light post behind her putting the detail of his face on the paper. She made his expression serious and the half angel half demon look almost.
Crystal wheels herself over to her parents graves, with a bouquet of flowers for each of their graves. As she approaches her parents graves, she sees 2 people nearby, one sitting on the wall of the graveyard, and one standing up. She cautiously approaches them, and when she's close enough, she decides to speak up. "Hello." Unconsciously, she reaches up and touches the locket that her brother gave her. Wishing her parents graves were a bit farther towards the back of the graveyard, she wheels herself over to her parents graves, which aren't that far from the wall that separates the church from the actual grave yard. Placing the boquets on her parents graves, she says a quick little prayer for her parents.
While at her parents graves, she gets a quick vision of an unknown person placing flowers on her parents graves. She turns to the 2 that were already there before her. "I'm Crystal. I've never seen either of you here before. Are either of you new here?" She asks, curiously. Smiling softly, Crystal waits patiently for one of them to reply.

Kokuou would nod his head saying “Impressive, most people are not able to hold an image in their minds that well. That takes incredible focus.†As he listened to Sam explain that she really did not think about what she did for fun, he learned that she had friends who lived in the states that returned home, and that she had lost a few people close to her. And the way she stated lost sounded vary final to him. “I am sorry to hear that, that can be difficult. And a kitten named bug? That sounds adorable. What kind of cat is it?†he would ask thinking of all the countless different breeds of cats that were out and around the world, from hairless, to Siamese, to long haired calicos, to those cats with the funny ears that folded back on themselves, or it could be a breed of spotted cat, of course there was a good chance that the cat was just a mix breed and Sam had no idea what the actual breed was.
As he asked his question he could see approaching from the path entrance leading into the cemetery a slender, long blonde haired woman around his age, who was wearing a brightly colored dress that was pale pink, white with a red bow attached, with several ruffles and frills. This young woman appeared to be around Kokuou’s age, but her height was difficult to determine due to the fact that she was sitting in a wheel chair that was decorated in flowery decals. As the woman cautiously approached them she would say ‘hello’, to which kokuou would nod and say “Good evening.†as she wheeled herself over to a nearby set of graves, placing a pair of bouquets on the two graves she had stopped in front of and bowed her head in prayer. Kokuou would make sure he did not say anything while she was praying so not to disturb her while she was doing so; allowing him to study and observe her until she turned around to him and Sam introducing herself as Crystal and after stating that she had not seen either of them before asked if they were new.
“Hello, my name is Kokuou, Kokuou Munashii†he would say introducing himself with a short bow and a smile. “It is a pleasure to meet you. Are you asking if we are new to the town? Or new to visiting this place? In my case it is neither, I have lived in this town most of my life, and have been visiting this particular place for a while, at least fifteen years, although usually not this late in the day.†He would say as he straightened up.
Post by Samantha Fuego on May 9, 2012 10:34:00 GMT -5
Sam shrugged a little. "I guess i almost have a photograpic memory." She looked up at him again as he asked about her cat. "His full name is Snuggle Bug. And He is just a gray long haired tabby.." Her explanation of her cat was a little cut off as she noticed his distraction with the woman that was comming down the path into the church yard. She looked the woman over and notived her come by and say hello. Sammie smiled and nodded to her waving a bit as she went back to drawing. She smiled a little more as she heard Koku move around and then introduce himself to the woman. She noted the womans name was crystal and it made her smile a bit. "You have a very lovely name Crystal." She looked up and smiled warmly and tilted her head to the right side closing her eyes for a few moments.

After a while, with a sigh, Kokuou would glance up at the darkening sky and then check his watch taking note of how much time had passed. Casting his senses around once more what he had originally came out here to try to understand would suddenly strike him, like the proverbial bolt of lightning. He noticed that the strange energy that he had just barely sensed come more sharply into focus, and could be separated into different categories, almost as five different types of energy that filled the air, the entire world around him.
First you had the hot fierce energy that most notably distanced itself with the sun; he could even sense a tiny portion when he lit his cigarettes with a normal lighter instead of using his power, the energy of fire. He could somehow tell instinctively that places like Deserts would also have a high abundance of fire based energy, not just places that logically would have it, like volcanos or places that were in the sun a lot. Next was the strong and everlasting metal, found within the earth, and more often found in the cities as everyday items. They too gave off a certain energy that he could feel and draw upon as well. And could pretty much be found anywhere there was a car or building. It felt like something you could always depend on.
Following that he could feel the weight of the wind, endless and everlasting, something that would always be present for him, and if it was not he was probably dead already so what did it matter? The wind could be soft and gentle, harsh and sharp, strong and destructive and endlessly around him. Countering the energy within the air was that of the green growing things surround him, found in the plants and trees growing around him. He did not get that feel of energy from other humans, and he was not sure if it was because they had souls that interfered with it or what, but he knew that it was more trees and other growing things that contained this Wood energy. He had no idea what strengths this energy might have but it was something that was something to figure out latter.
The final energy that he could feel was scattered within the air, and deep under the ground, that of water. It was another vital element, although all five of them were vital for different reasons, and he could feel the possibilities of that element as well, although they were not quite ready to form a complete image in his mind yet. But he knew that whatever it was that he was grasping at, was something huge, something that would change how he fought and even perceived the world around him.
“umm, I think that it is getting kind of late, so I must say that it was a pleasure meeting you both and it was interesting being your model Sammie. If you wish to talk again or anything please let me know.†he would say as he handed her one of the standard Kosa House business cards that held an email address that he could be reached at. “But sadly I must go now. Once again it was a pleasure to meet you both.†Before waving goodbye and leaving to return to the Kosa house to try and practice this new perception or ability, whatever it actually was.

Samantha smiled warmly as she noted it was really later. "It was a plasure Koku.." She placed the card in her pocket before turning to crystal. "It is late I have to get home and feed my cat." Sam smiled and picked her things up and walked nother heading home.
