I've given a lot of thought to what I'm going to do with my characters now that I'm back. I've settled on what I want to do with Rainier first, which was to run with my previous idea regarding him: He's been stuck on Earth, roughly in the Karakura Town area, and is unable to move between worlds like most other Hollows of any flavor.
Which is where you come in. Rainier's a very paranoid, insecure sort of man. He's lived a very unchanging life for literal decades, and all of that has been ripped out from under his feet. Now he's just a wandering, hungry monster who has no idea what to do.
So I'm looking for five or so threads with anyone who could be in the Karakura Town area for any reason. A pretty easy thing to justify.
The goal here is to take the base of this character that I made quite a while ago, take away everything he had, and see what comes out the other side. The other side being whatever it is that Rainier turns into, and the crystallization of that being what allows him to achieve Resurrección.
I have no doubt that there will be a lot of fighting to survive, but I also have a feeling that he'll be surprised by some of the people that he meets. It'll challenge his isolated, narrow view of what his life could look like. And, just maybe, he'll make an impact in the reverse direction, too.

Sounds like a perfect candidate to me, if you're interested.
Rainier's going to be eating a lot of humans. He's probably drawing a good bit of attention. Do you think Janus would approach him? If not, it's pretty clear that Rainier would come after him. He's a delicious, much-needed meal on the surface.

I'd love to write with you in the future, but at the moment, Crowe is going to be just in Hueco Mundo, since that's where he thinks he belongs at the start of his journey. But in the future, absolutely!

Might as well talk publicly, Yuudai Takeshi. It might give others ideas, too!
As a member of Fifth Division, being specially assigned to deal with a "more powerful than average Hollow of some variety" as an early-responder of sorts would make a lot of sense. They wouldn't have many details, and Yuudai is plenty strong enough to handle what they believe Rainier to be.
Your situation is a bit different. As part of Second, being sent to investigate with a strict "do not engage" caveat would make plenty of sense! Of course, what makes the thread happen at all is that you do end up facing Rainier in some capacity, willingly or otherwise. Things rarely go according to plan, after all!
Seireitei is crumbling and the Gotei is a shell of its former self. Ravaged by the plague, the surviving Shinigami struggle to maintain the balance, but with so few of them left, the work is taxing and their fortress-city has fallen to neglect. Spread thin across all fronts, their diminished presence has been noted by friend and foe alike.
The Arrancar have rebuilt Las Noches and are rallying. The throne remains empty, but self-styled Espada have risen up from among them and are vying for control, each one endlessly testing the others’ weaknesses. Too evenly matched for any one of them to claim the crown, they bide their time, waiting for the opportune moment.
On Earth, all seems well—but there is a war being fought in the shadows as the mortals find themselves lacking the protection they once had and so sorely need. The Quincy, having realized the oppressive specter of the Shinigami is no more, are flourishing, and are fighting the Hollow-breeds with renewed vigor.
