You're saying on-site activity is better/less toxic now?
If we don't count Metagame, maybe. Only maybe. A little better.
Or unless you literally just mean site chat.
And I do trust your intentions in the matter, Jian. But yours aren't the only ones that matter. And Tokiyo was one of the main people championing at that time too. I believe I remember him saying something about a sort of zero tolerance policy?
Awesome. I just got staff approval to use my player blog instead of the Metagame forum for looking for and discussing potential and current threads. This overturns the prior ruling and I thank staff for making the decision.
It should absolutely, 100% sicken you. You're right to call us out for not acting before, just so long as you stand up and own the fact that more of us than not have participated in producing events "staff should have done something about". The point of this to talk about the problem and to help it to stop. Not to rub everyone's noses in past. Do you want to do good going forward?
In direct retort to Colin's accusation that this is not a genuine action by staff, this is in fact the single most genuine act I have ever seen staff make, from top to bottom.
It won't be given a pass. As I mentioned parties have been, will be reached out too although it may take some time. Punishments may or may not be metered out depending on the situation.
Making sure people understand is considerably more valuable than retroactively punishing anyone at this point.
As has been mentioned, we'll never the untold number we have lost along the way, or undo the damage that had already been inflicted. But being clear about what will not be okay going forward along with highlights based on past conduct is, I think, invaluable.
I'm having trouble processing the levels of backwards off new meme!bri. Is she trolling? Someone help me.
But, no really, everything I've said so far I believe 100%. Just stating what's been on my mind.
So... Were you against the zero tolerance policy in reaction to your leaving the site? If so, why'd you come back after it? Your dank memes implied you thought it was babyish for staff to crack down on people being toxic. But that was in response to you leaving because it was toxic. Unless you weren't trying to imply that with your picture? Could you explain?
Fuck if I know. I do still like you. You're a good person. You draw cool porkymans. Your heart's in the right place, etc. I'm just trying to figure out where you could possibly be coming from on this. I was in agreement with a staff crackdown and understood you leaving the site. And now you're just kinda trying to be cool or something and "Nah that ain't me" and I'd much prefer you just say what you meant or get out of the discussion.
Breaking my "one post only for drama bomb threads" tradition here to offer what is probably gonna be brushed aside and not even considered:
Why not appoint someone on staff who actually will enforce the rules and not grant special considerations because "teehee I like you, you're an okay person" or any other such reasoning. At the same time, maybe be more adamant on staff enforcing the rules they're so keen on dismissing/situationally enforcing. Again, this'll probably be ignored or completely disregarded, but I figured what the hell, may as well post it anyway and see what/if anything comes of it.
