Another day added to the countless days.
Another hunt added to the countless hunts.
Another soul added to the countless souls.
On and on and on the desert raced by Lethas as he flew across the endless wastes that he called home. His wings rarely beat against the wind, the speeds at which he flew were easily keeping his colossus body aloft. When he did flap his majestic wings, they disrupted swaths of the sand. The clouds of the dust would fly miles into the air like a wave crashing against an impossibly high cliff. The sands didn’t faze the owl Hollow. Nothing tended to faze him. The only thing that was ever on his mind was the hunger that burned in the pit of his stomach. The hunger for food and the hunger for memories.
Many of his days were spent on Earth, gorging himself on the souls of the unfortunate humans. Their memories were usually filled with the best kind of juice. He actually wasn’t sure why he was in Hueco Mundo. He normally wasn’t sure how he got to the places he found himself in. The lack of memories himself forced him to just accept his predicament and look for something to satisfy his endless hunger.
With another beat of his wings, he felt a sharp pain. It seemed as if he had a wound. This surprised Lethas. He had never felt pain before, that he remembered. He could use the memories of the others in his mind to learn of it. Every single memory ended with pain and agony. It seemed as if he might have a wound. The owl beat his wings against his ferocious speed to slow himself down. Each beat of his wings brought more pain. This concerned the Hollow.
Like the animal he was, Lethas started to tenderly peck around with his beak in the places that the sharp pain came from. He found a deep gash on the underside of his wing. It seemed as if he had been injured during his last battle, but he had no memories that had him getting hurt. This concerned him greatly and he turned, looking out to make sure he was alone in the vast wastes of Hueco Mundo. As soon as he was sure he was alone, he began to lick his wounds as best he could.
He would need to heal before moving on.
