I really don't have much free time to sit in one place for more than 10 minutes at a time and post out of character. I gotta spend most of my time trying to get money. And I'd rather focus on Kionchi. I think you all would rather I focus on him than write up an app for a retired character who can only talk to (less than Royals) in dreams.
I'll have the app done before I'll write as Hope, sure. But I haven't actually received any requests to write with Hope that seem all that critical. Maybe because the app isn't done? I guess. But I'd still rather write as Kionchi for now.
Honestly I'm shocked you care. You seemed more interested in seeing me play a shinigami.
I can still play as them just fine. They just don't need anymore GP. And can't really influence the world all that much except under extremely rare conditions.
I planned on doing a metagame thread for them later so I could get a few threads for them while I was on the ship, since it gives me tons of time for writing but not much time for OOC planning and plotting and all that stuff.
I'll do an app for them before then, if it bothers you so much.
But honestly everything about them is in that announcement thread I made, including conditions for them to thread. And no one has bothered asking me for a thread with them to the extent that they could be bothered actually giving me a condition. Admittedly one of the conditions (having your soul completely destroyed) is rather harsh.
did you know Hope is actually my biggest rival, in a sense? there's nobody else that can touch a mind as effectively as I can with the sole exception of Hope, which is the most powerful silencer of reason and logic (my favorite things) there is
here I am, poking and prodding, maybe filling people with despair because I know it'll push them into doing great things
Hope's job is finding people with the potential to be more who have otherwise lost their way and pointing them in the right direction. Giving them the right question, at best, but never any real answers. And usually doing so by watching over what they've done.
That and making sure no one is trying to ruin existence by tapping into humanity's collective consciousness.
Finally if your character has their soul completely destroyed (like beyond reincarnation) Hope will claim your memories and give your existence a kind of final reprieve before shelving you off into the collective consciousness of mankind. This helps serve in showing people that even non-Royal lives can have meaning. That something lives on beyond yourself, even if your completely and utterly destroyed.
The fact Knowledge is the first Royal capable of accessing their beloved records is probably a nuisance since they protect and fawn over the soulless memories like loving mothers. Well one is about the Hope of love. The other is about the Hope of being loved.
Of course since I still get twins I'm sure one would be more interested in who Knowledge was and what he was thinking and the other more annoyed (in her sister's interest).
Why are you doing this to me? D: Your like the devil.
The sway he holds over others’ Knowledge is so absolute that he can effortlessly add to, remove, or rewrite even their most intense experiences, their most treasured memories—and in so doing, steer them in a certain direction.
Yeah rewriting memories would be a no-no. Half of Hope relies on the idea that your future actions will influence the world around you in a way that creates positive experiences. Hope doesn't give a shit about the tangible or even metaphysically tangible (i.e. "souls"). What's really important is the permeability of Consequence and belief in reasonable potential and fulfillment. Hence why it took Fate to pull Hope out of Nothing.
I'd really much rather have this conservation in character.
For sure. Reassuring one soul of its value isn't worth the risk of more despair.
But sometimes you gotta motivate someone that their choices will make the world a better place for them in order to make the world a better place for everyone else. Its usually touted as a fool-hearty ideal only because so many people lose Hope right before they reach their final destination.
sometimes that means forgetting something and remembering something better, even if that may not have ever actually happened
See now your talking Kionchi's language. Fuck anything that gets in the way of perfection. Hope is too inefficient and Wishes are the crutches upon which the weak hold back the worthy. A cruel irony that Kionchi was instrumental in making Hope? Probably not if you were to ask a literary nerd.
Seireitei is crumbling and the Gotei is a shell of its former self. Ravaged by the plague, the surviving Shinigami struggle to maintain the balance, but with so few of them left, the work is taxing and their fortress-city has fallen to neglect. Spread thin across all fronts, their diminished presence has been noted by friend and foe alike.
The Arrancar have rebuilt Las Noches and are rallying. The throne remains empty, but self-styled Espada have risen up from among them and are vying for control, each one endlessly testing the others’ weaknesses. Too evenly matched for any one of them to claim the crown, they bide their time, waiting for the opportune moment.
On Earth, all seems well—but there is a war being fought in the shadows as the mortals find themselves lacking the protection they once had and so sorely need. The Quincy, having realized the oppressive specter of the Shinigami is no more, are flourishing, and are fighting the Hollow-breeds with renewed vigor.
