The world of the living. What a very enigmatic place. It was crowded, sticky, the weather sucked and people were ignorant and selfish. They had not the smallest clue about what was really going on and that had made them careless. Yet, there were a few with special abilities, who made it their duty to protect their fellow human beings from being eaten alive by a Hollow or worse. Weren’t they lovely. Seryu always had to smirk at the thought of them. Sure, they were interisting, and she admired their freedom, but if someone would let her choose between power and nescience, so would she always ask for power - even if it meant that she had to fight.
Seryu loved the world of the living, because the people were oblivious. The people were born unchained, and they could choose their very own path. Their lifes were short enough to make every single moment worth it, and yet they did not regret wasting a day or two. They were free. Free to do whatever they wanted. They do not have to fear pain, as the law is going to protect them. They do not have to fear lonliness, because everyone has friends or a family. They do not fear death, because they have accepted that their time would come sooner or later anyways.
Was there anything more satisfying than knowing the day you day, you did everything you wanted and you were free? Not to Seryu. The earth was her hide out, the place she wanted to visit when she wanted to be alone. And while she didn’t minded being a Soul Reaper, she still often asks herself what her human life was like.
She had arrived at the world of the living just recently, and after switching into her Gigai, she was now strolling through the streets, looking for a fitting place that could harbour her for a few hours. It was getting darker and colder outside and the wind blew her in the face, causing her snow white hair - which she wore open today - to be whirled up. The young woman wore a a short black dress and a girly white coat, that reached down to her knees, over it. Her high heeled white boots clacked with every step she made. She hid her Gokon Tekko Glove in her right pocket, just in case she needed to use her Soul Reaper powers, but for tonight, her only plan was to get drunk.
Seryu entered a small side-street, she quickly glanced around the corner, just to lean against a wall and close her eyes for a few seconds. “You’ve forgotten where you wanted to go?”Asura asked and Seryu couldn’t help but notice that the Zanpakuto Spirit had a strong passive aggressive sound in her voice. She didn’t approved the trashy lifestyle of her Shinigami, and urged to take her back to the Soul Society, where they could train and become stronger. Seryu, however, has never really been much of a physical fighter, and she was more skilled in Kaido than everything. Because of that, it wasn’t always safe for her to run around in the streets of Karakura so late at night, especially since she was alone, but today, Seryu had no fucks to give.
She spotted what seemed to be a bar along the road, and without hesistation, she entered it. Without even glancing to the left or the right, Seryu directly aimed for the counter, where she sat down and took her coat off, only to express a sigh of relief. She was freezing, but fortunately for her, the bar was rather warm.
“Whiskey. A whole bottle if possible.” Her voice was dry, and so was her throat.
